Kalagala Primary School – 2023

Kalagala parents have built a new kitchen with a fuel saving stove and L4L has donated a big saucepan for porridge.

Trees have been planted, beans and vegetables are being grown. L4L has donated a set of textbooks in the core subjects for P1-P7. This schoolyear the first PLE candidates will sit the PLE exam.

As a result of the improvements, the school population has grown from 212 to 513 pupils since 2023. Local politicians are aiming for the school to become a government aided school.  An operating licence has been obtained.

The project has injected a lot of energy in the community as well as optimism and hope for the future.

The philosophy of the programme is a hand-up, not a hand-out

The programme will gradually improve the quality and yield of milk goats throughout the region
